While working for the startup Bookish.com, a company funded by 3 major book publishers aimed at answering the question “What should I read next?”, I did many, many designs. The one idea that I felt was the strongest and most forward thinking was this one. Our goal was to make the e-reader the focus. Mimicking what YouTube or Vimeo does for video by allowing users to share or embed content anywhere. A user would be able to jump right into a book, reading the first chapter and hopefully getting them engaged enough to buy. Sadly, this idea never saw the light of day.
